UPDATE ON THIS POST 2015-08-06:
The test tone are fixed now (for analog, still problem with Optical and DTS audio throw the Optical output) and 24 bit analog audio works. The problem persist but in another way, i don't have any Rear speakers and analog 5.1 setup, there's only side speakers and only 2 channel sound ( "no surround sound at all" but plus "I have side speakers instead of rear speakers"but; Sadly, they are not working at all). Check the print screens attached below. The workaround is to change to analog 7.1 setup, but that will only give you 2.0 stereo to, with sub-woofer for low sound signals. This problem has been since the TP build 10041, but then the driver didn't play any sound in 24 bit stereo, so it was detected more on later TP builds. You can see at page 17-21 that i have attached print screens. I hope they will push out a fix for this soon. Im using an ASUS P9X79 PRO mobo.

Well John, from a practical perspective, if you are paying for 5.1 or 7.1 audio sound system and you only get 2 channel (L/R) test tones, I would say that is a major snafu. The problem is that we have 5.1, 7.1 and DTS audio systems which our complaint is that there are no sounds (test tones or otherwise) heard over the speakers, but only L/R channels are successful during a test tone playback. I have ran an internal audio check with the Logitech z906 audio and each channel checks out. However, when running the test tone check with MS audio driver, only L/R can be heard and no other channels are heard. This includes 5.1, 7.1 and DTS configurations. Only 2 channel is working.
So in a nutshell, that would be considered a practical problem for users that expected to have 5.1, 7.1 and/or DTS working. As before the upgrade, Windows 8.1 Pro x64 was working flawlessly. But to downgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 8.1 only to get all the channels to work would be a shame and a big one at that.

I've got the same 5.1 rear speaker issue with the on board ReallTek audio on my Asus P8P67 Pro Rev 3.1 board, was fine in Windows 7, but not after upgrading to Windows 10. I've tried several driver versions such as the one from Realtek's website, and even with the latest 7581 driver.
If I set the audio to Quadrophonic or 7.1, the test tones work for the rear speakers, but 5.1 doesn't show rear speakers, only side speakers so I get no rear test tones or sound from surround audio sources such as movies or games. Not sure why 5.1 is now showing as side speakers as I've always used the rear output for my surround speakers since I bought them in 2003.
I did find a temporary fix and that was to unplug the rear analog connector and plug it back in again. But it goes back to not working after a reboot.

OLD POST BELOW:
After the update of driver: realtek semiconductor corp. driver;
I have Audio issue after the Realtek update. I cannot choose 5.1 speaker setup but 7.1 works just fine. Uninstall and reinstall to a driver released for Asus P9X79 PRO Realtek and 5.1 speaker works. The windows update do then the update of realtek again, and 5.1 speaker stop to work. To fix this for now is it possible to hide the Realtek update and not installing it for me?
