COD2 was the very first fps I bought for a console. I previously played CS and was a hardcore PC FPS gamer thinking that no console game could ever sway me away from the feel of things on a PC. COD2 did just that and since that time I have played every iteration regardless of the ridiculously small amount of time I get to play on a weekly basis. I have also dabbled in the likes of Ghost Recon, R6 Vegas and various other shooters since that. I don't play a ton, but when I do I like to enjoy myself without having to worry about getting into a CTF/Dom/HQ lobby with a full fledged spawn trapping clan waiting to slaughter anyone who isn't as experienced. No, this is not a whining sesh, I just want to share some of the things that I think make other games better as far as the mechanics of game play are concerned. So yeah...here's the wishlist.
1. Selectable Spawn Points. Any Tom Clancy/PC game that I played always had this option so that when you die, you get to select from three or four pre-designated points on the map. It was invaluable in reaching a desired location with ease and avoiding waves of enemies flooding one side of the map
2. Re-spawn immunity. 5 seconds...that's all. How about giving me a chance to find some cover from a chopper gunner, or perhaps from some turd posted back at my spawn with a motion sensor. This is probably the one I'd wish for the most. Spawn trapping would be non existent and objective game modes would no longer suck to me.
3. Custom Matches. Why in the world there's not the ability for me to select which maps I want to play and don't want to play, who I want to play with or better yet for me to set up my own public room I will never understand. I'm talking full fledged ability to limit what weapons you want your room to use, what kill streaks if any, map rotation, game type, etc. It also would be really nice if when you set up this room for your friends and others that if you get a particularly annoying player or one whom no one enjoys playing with you can vote to kick them. Simple thing that would make a huge difference.
4. Real Matchmaking. No, I don't want to play against 15th prestige if I'm only first prestige. Sorry. Unless you give me some benefit to doing so like significantly boosting my XP by playing under that big of a level and playing time gap. Or, better yet, make it selectable. That's certainly not hard.
I guess that's it. Thought I had more...maybe I do? Whatever, I'm getting a shower now.
