Unrecognized Disc Error Code 03-80-00 - Halo Reach Only

I've wanted to play halo reach . So I picked up a copy from gamestop , brand new . I tried loading it a couple of times and it was unrecognized and just gave me the error code 03-80-00 . So I went to Gamestop and exchanged it for another brand new disc . Still wont read , same problem .

I've tried every single one of my discs and they all work , besides Halo Reach.

I've already seen the guide and tried all the steps ( cleaning disc , emptying cache , remove devices etc ) .

I think this is something to do with anti piracy. The only thing i can suggest is trying the things on this page  support.microsoft.com/.../2571959
The issue here I believe is that the new games that are coming out are using a new disc layer technology that some older XBOX 360's might not be able to read. This was apart of an older XBOX 360 firmware update (which they had a press release about replacing users XBOX 360's if they were apart of this set group) I know that a friend of mine was apart of this group and did receive a new XBOX 360 but he was contacted directly by Microsoft. Article is here: www.1up.com/.../xbox-36-new-disc-format-increases-storage, don't know if it's related, just a hunch.
This is something that I read a time ago when I heard about the problem earlier this year. I have never encountered the problem and hope I never do. It really is a bummer how you cannot play that game on your console. Now, what console are you using, the older ones or the newer slim ones?

So, even when you remove your hard drive from the console you're still unable to load the game? That's quite mind boggling even to me as Halo Reach isn't one of those games that is on this new disc layer technology so that wouldn't even be relevant.
