un-snap an app

"Xbox, Unsnap"

Either use the voice command Cold Fusion is suggesting or:

1) Press the home button on your controller to go back to the home screen

2) Use the directional controls to highlight the snapped app (You will see a thick white border around it on the large preview tile)

3) Click the menu button and select "Quit" from the menu

Ideally in step three the "Snap" entry in the menu should change to "Unsnap" for snapped apps, but that's for the OS upgrade to come ;)

You don't need to "Quit."  You can also select the "Unsnap" option from the home screen, in a button just to the right of the snapped app.

Selecting "Quit" will cause the app to stop running, which may or may not be what you really want.

Every time i "unsnap or quit" the snap icon is still on the tile and re runs when i click on it! so, how do i get rid of the snap app. Running on the tiles?

This is an extremely old thread.  For future reference please try not to bump older threads.

If the snapped app is still active when you restart the tile then it was not unsnapped properly.  Say "Xbox  Unsnap" or highlight the snapped app using your controller by tapping the Guide button twice and then selecting the app then press B to exit it.
