Mass Effect 2 PC to Xbox 360

Is it possible to transfer a Mass Effect 2 PC save to the Xbox 360 for the purposes of continuing the game in Mass Effect 3?

I've searched the forums and so far come up with a "it's not possible" as the main answer. I found some third party program but I'd rather not use it and risk getting banned from Xbox Live for modding.

Are there any BioWare and Microsoft sanctioned solutions to this problem?

No I don't believe there is I'm afraid. Sorry.

Bioware operate a "we don't care if you mod but don't blame us if things go wrong" stance about modding, with a huge thread about modding the 360 version of the game on their official forum.

However in the end it isn't up to them and Microsoft consider anything like that to be system tampering, so it isn't worth risking your account for the sake of a game save.

Mass Effect 2 can be bought very cheaply now, so why not try and find a copy and play through. Then import that Shepard into Mass Effect 3.

-

Or why not buy Mass Effect 3 for the PC and have no worries?

voteDC thank you for the reply. I think I'll just wait and play Mass Effect 3.

The reason I asked my original question is because I played Mass Effect 2 for Xbox first, then I got the PC version through a BioWare promotion so I played it on PC as well. Now I no longer have the Xbox version and I prefer the game save from my PC version (better choices in my opinion). I also have not played Mass Effect 1 and was hoping to get the cheaper PC version, play Mass Effect 2 on PC, then import the saves to Xbox.

That doesn't seem likely to happen now, so I'll stick with the mediocre save I have on the Xbox and hopefully I won't mind much since I will be too busy playing Mass Effect 3.

But why not get the PC version of Mass Effect 3?

-

If your PC runs Mass Effect 2 then it will run the third game without a problem. That way you get to experience Mass Effect 3 with your best import.

-

The only real difference would be having to use the keyboard and mouse for the controls, as well as not having gamerscore for the achievements you can earn.

-

Mass Effect 3 is cheaper on the PC, so you'd be saving a little money on top of using your best import. Then further down the line when the Xbox version drops in price you'll be able to pick that version up.

-

I own both Mass Effect 1 and 2 for both 360 and PC, also I am getting the PC version of the third game first. So perhaps my advice is a little biased.

Actually im trying to do this right now. I have come to the conclusion that you will need the xbox version of Mass Effect 2 along with the PC version to do it. Reason: The import save needs to be updated to the current save you have on your USB device (im guessing) and to do that, you just need to load the save game on Xbox in ME2, and should work then. Makes complete sense, unfornutley ill need to get my ME2 back hahahah
