Freeze up?

Every once it will. Other times it would just take me to the dashboard a random.

same happens with lots of other games as well... it just means your xbox isn't working the way it should.

Nothing to worry about yet though... As long as the freezes aren't frequent you should have no fear of your xbox breaking down completely.

Yeah, none of this started till my foot caught on the wired cord charging my controller.  What's worse is the xbox was on when it happened... until today it hadn't happened since the day it fell.

It's only happened to me a few times when playing online. Normally after a huge session of gaming... I take it as my 360 telling me to go to bed.

Happens to me too from time to time. Locking/Freezing/Restarting is a "feature" implemented in all Microsoft products, so it's to be expected it's in the Xbox too.

If it's occasional, then you're ok. Your Xbox is just having a little hiccup. But if it happens multiple times a day, your Xbox has a problem. Maybe you damaged your disc drive a bit when you knocked it over, that would explain the freezing.

I get it from time to time. Always seems to happen when I'm having a really good game.

The discdrive is rarely used, isn't it? At least I only use it at boottime, after that it's just the harddrive. I was thinking it might be temperature related. I had my Xbox on it's side and noticed it to be very hot on the side and bottom and not at the top (where the heat should go, since I learned hot air will go up). Put it flat yesterday to see if it makes any difference. Did't freeze up yet, but then again I only played for about two hours after putting it flat. But temeprature seems better "distributed" over the entire unit now. Hope it makes a difference.

Yeah, heat building up like that could easily cause funny things to happen. And I definetly think that laying the Xbox horizontally is much better for heat control, since it allows cooler air to pass under the console. When my laptop gets really hot, I find propping it up with some erasors or something helps to get air underneath it and cools it down a bit.

WIth the disc drive thing, I was thinking that the game wasn't installed. If it was playing directly off the disc, then a damaged drive could cause problems.
