Deleting an Installed Game

I have a couple games installed on my hard drive and one of them is last years Madden game. Since the new one is out now I probably won't be playing the old one for a while so have no need to use up the hard drive space with Madden 11 installed. I know how to delete it from the HDD but I'm worried it will delete everything with it including all my game progress and achievements, etc. Is it safe to delete a game from my HDD without it getting rid of all my games saves and whatnot? Thanks for your help.

Yes it is safe to delete. When you go to memory, games, then select the game. There you will see Game Install, that one is safe to delete. It will be a big file (in GB) whereas game saves will be very small (between KB and a few MB).
