I have the Live Family Gold pack and my son who is under the family gold pack is using a different console. my question is I want to add the escalation pack for COD Black ops but do i have to buy it twice for us to both be able to use it at the same time or
can i migrate him to my console then migrate him back?

The Family Pack changes nothing about content licensing. If your profile buys a map pack, your profile can use it on any console while connected to Xbox Live, and it can be used by any profile on the first console you download it on (online or offline). If you buy/first-download it on "his" console, he (and any other profile on that console) will be able to use it, and you'll still be able to use it on "your" console if your profile is signed in to Live (which shouldn't be a burden for a multiplayer map pack).
