My Seagate GoFlex External Hard Drive (500 GB / USB 3.0) has to be unplugged and then plugged in again after each "boot" of my Xbox 360 S console. Just thought I should post something.

Seagate hard drives are known to have issues with the 360. There's not really a fix for it except to use a different drive.

Well, you did buy a trash drive. Try a different USB cable. The fact it doesn't power up when the console powers on means it's a possible issue with the drive. You get what you pay for :S

It powers up fine, just does not show. Unplugged Xbox, plugged in everythin again including drive, plug in Xbox. Drive detects fine. Power off Xbox, do not unplug, power on, drive "not there", must replug.

Yes...that means the drive doesn't power up and/or spin up properly. The 360 always keeps power to the USB ports. I guess the drive detects that there's been a change in power (because the USB ports shut off when you power down, but if there's something in the port, it powers it back on.), and the drive doesn't spin up because the 360 isn't on. But yes. It's probably the drive. Because it's Seagate. And Seagate makes bad drives.
