Need help troubleshooting diconnects

That sounds more like an issue I ran into where the cable itself was the problem, somewhere along the cable it was bent too much and made a small break that only worked some of the time.

I would test with another cable to make sure of that part, also if you have a laptop you can do a shared internet connection to the console, if that works using the same cable with no disconnects then the hardwired part of your router may be going out.

If it does still disconnect then your other option would be to plug straight into the modem, if your modem and router are separate, and if the discos stop at that point then the router all together may be bad.

I do have a long cable that is right by my girlfriends chair.  I will try a different cable to see if that's the problem.

I don't have a laptop, but if the other wire doesn't work, I will plug it directly into the modem.  That should eliminate both the wire and router as problems, correct?   Or, like you should, will tell me the router is bad.  Either way, I didn't think of plugging directly in which will troubleshoot my router out.  Thanks!
