HyperX Cloud II with new controller (no adapter)

Does anyone use the HyperX Cloud II on their Xbox One without the mic adapter on the new controller? The issue I see with it is that the headset has all the volume controls on the USB cable and none on the AUX cable which plugs into the controller. How am I going to adjust voice volumes and mute my mic if I need to? Or am I forced to use an adapter even with the new controller?

You can go into settings on the console and adjust game/chat balance and volume. However if you'd like to adjust volumes and mute your mic in-game/on the fly, you will have to use the adapter.
