I am using Windows 7 Home Premium. When trying to delete email messages in Windows Live Mail I keep getting "An unknown error has ocurred" message. This seems to only happen when I want to delete messages that have already been opened. I can delete unopened
mail fine. I am allowed to delete one opened message at a time. But as I do that a few times up pops the message again stopping me again.
I also had problems with Windows Live Mail apparently randomly coming up with "An Unknown Error Has Occured" whilst I was cleaning up old, unwanted emails, and after much searching, most replies seemed to say that it was due to anti-virus problems, although
no explanation of how to fix it. Eventually I did find a solution, which although a little long winded, is simple & does work:
Right click on the email to be deleted.
Select "Properties"
Click OK (Or Cancel - it doesn't really matter)
Now you can delete the offending email.
Unfortunately this process needs to be repeated for each email that won't delete, but it gets there in the end.
