How do I remove vista home security 2012 virus from my laptop with internet access blocked?

I have been infected with the vista home security 2012 virus, and can't open any programs, including internet or anti-virus software.. HELP!

  1. Restart your computer.
  2. When the computer starts you will see your computer's hardware being listed. When you see this information start to gently tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theWindows Vista Advanced Boot Options.
  3. Select the Safe Mode with Networking option using the arrow keys.
  4. Then press the enter key on your keyboard to boot into Vista Safe Mode.
  5. When Windows starts you will be at a typical logon screen. Logon to your computer and Vista will enter Safe mode.
  6. Do whatever tasks you require, and when you are done, reboot to go back into normal mode.

I have been infected with the vista home security 2012 virus, and can't open any programs, including internet or anti-virus software.. HELP!


  • I had faced this problem recently......and it really took lot of time to remove that malware. So, basically how it works is, it makes changes to the registry settings of the system and does not allow the user to run any of the .exe files. It did not allow me to do the system restore. My browsers were not functioning properly. Mozilla was fortunately working. It keeps on scanning and gives you false warnings about the system. (e.g potential threats found etc etc!!). 

  • First, if none of your internet browsers are not working, then try booting it from safe mode with networking option. This will allow your computer to connect to internet. Before trying to boot from safe mode with networking option, try doing (alt+ctrl+delete) to open up task manager and try to end the process which starts with 3 letter word.exe.....thts the malware which has attacked your PC. Now, after this, try running any internet browser and if it does not work then boot it from safe mode with networking option. 

  • I downloaded 2 or 3 antimalware softwares (spyware doctor, malwarebytes) but none of them removed virus. It just scanned my drives and reported the results. If you want to remove those malwares, you have to purchase full version. So, basically i followed this tutorial but I made some little changes.


(Did not ran Fixncr.reg as mentioned in the above link as I was able to run some of my files. If none of your files are opening then try running Fixncr.reg which will change the registry settings and allow you to run .exe files)

I did following steps to make my system work:
  1. Downloaded RKILL from the above link, installed it and ran it. After some seconds, i got message in the notepad saying that malware has been killed. 
  2. Then, i was able to run the .exe files. So, I ran system restore and my PC was back to normal operating mode.
I did not ran malwarebytes which has been mentioned in the above link because it just scans the system but does not remove any viruses. So, my suggestion is try to do system restore after RKILL and I am pretty sure you will find your system back to its normal condition.....
