I purchased upgrades to Windows 8 for $40 to upgrade my four laptops in our household. I have the retail version of Windows 7 Ultimate on my main laptop. OEM Windows 7 Pro on my secondary laptop and then Home Pro from there. I ordered the first upgrade to Windows 8 on Jan. 26,2013 and decided to upgrade the rest of my machines. I talked my little brother into upgrading his Vista laptop to Windows 8. We also did the Pro Pack ... media center free application. They took my money for the upgrades, and delivered a black hole for the Media Center.
I called Microsoft today and was ping ponged back and forth between Microsoft Customer Support and Microsoft App Store, some six times. Each time that I got transfered the audio from the phone got lower and lower until I gave up trying to hear the excuses. Over an hour with no results because I could not hear the associate. Ultimately it was my fault. Remember Windows ME, how about Vista? All versions that I have owned and I felt that the $40 limited time upgrade to Windows 8 would be a little redemption. I was going to purchase a Windows Phone. Nope not anymore.
The Media Center upgrade was to be free, didn't lose much there, except faith. How do you think I will fare restoring my machines back to the original version and letting the credit card company take it from there?
