I have recently installed windows 8 on my PC and I just bought a movie off Microsft store through Xbox video and can't play it! Have I just wasted $6??

Windows 8 installed several days ago
PC Desktop
tried restarting
tried updating apps
tried syncing licenses

I keep getting an error in Xbox video and music:

Can't play.
Try again.  If the problem persists, visit www.xbox.com/support for more info.

Answer

Hi,

I managed to fix the problem by following these steps (as suggested in another thread - which I can no longer find):

go to SEARCH

type in REGEDIT and click on it

press yes when it asks for permission

expand 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE'

expand 'SOFTWARE'

expand 'Microsoft'

expand 'Windows'

Expand 'CurrentVersion'

click on 'Audio'

double left click on 'DisableProtectedAudioDG'

change 'Value data' from 1 to 0

press OK

close Registry Editor

Restart PC

It then worked for me!!

Hopefully it works for you!
