Hi,

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

The issue is you keep getting the blue screen error “DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION”. We need more information to assist you in a better way.

1.      Did you make any changes prior to the issue?

2.      Have you updated the Display adapter drivers?

3.      Have you updated the BIOS drivers?

4.      What is the make and model of the computer?

Here is what we can try as of now, follow the methods and check if this helps in resolving blue screen error issue. This is the general bug check code for fatal errors found by Driver Verifier.

Method 1: Check if you get the error even in Safe mode with Networking.

Step 1: Refer the section safe mode in the link to start the computer in safe mode in networking.

 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode

Note: Please restart the computer to start in normal mode.

Step 2: If the issue doesn’t occur in safe mode please check in clean boot.

Please refer the link to start the computer in clean boot.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After the troubleshooting, make sure to boot your computer to normal mode by following the step 3.

Method 2: Download and install updates, run safety scanner and check hard disk for errors.

Step 1: Download and install updates.

You may refer the link to install updates.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows-8/windows-update-faq

Step 2: Run Microsoft safety scanner.

To run the Microsoft Safety Scanner:

a. Go to the Microsoft Safety Scanner webpage to download the scanner.

http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

b. Click Download Now, and then follow the instructions on the screen.

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To rerun a scan with the latest anti-malware definitions, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Note: Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss.

Step 3: Check the hard disk for errors.

You may refer the following link for assistance.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/improve-performance-optimizing-hard-drive

Important:  Data available on bad sectors might be lost when chkdsk tries to repair your hard disc.

Method 3: Please contact computer manufacturer to Update the Chipset, BIOS, and Graphic and sound drivers from the manufacturer’s website.

Disclaimer:

Modifying BIOS/ complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.

Method 4: Disable driver signature enforcement.

Please refer the link.

I have not made any changes besides updating all my drivers when I installed Windows 8

I have the latest BIOS drivers from Gigabyte for the motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3

I have the latest Video Drivers from Nvidia for Asus GF MATRIX GTX 580

The SSD drive has also been updated with the latest firmware from corsair for
Corsair 128GB Force 3

The computer was custom built in November 2011. It was initially running Windows 7, but is now running windows 8.

I will try those steps you have recommended and update with the results.

Thank you

I seem to have this issue solved. I have not had a crash in 2 weeks.

I followed these instructions from an activision forum. (http://community.activision.com/message/413595793)

Nvidia gtx 580. Black Screen, Blue Screen. [FIXED!]

Crash Fix

I Strongly recommend this. Download : NVIDIA SYSTEM TOOLS  ( http://www.nvidia.com/object/nvidia-system-tools-6.08-driver.html )

Install everything. Then click on "Performance" icon on the dekstop.
"Performance" tab
"Device settings"
Mark custom
And turn the Graphics clock down 100mhz (witch will probably be 695)
