This update refuses to go away. It was listed as a recommended update today. Every time I reboot, it shows up again in Windows Update. Update history shows it has already been installed three times. Should I just hide it?
Ok ... I downloaded the stand alone package via http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2647753. Unhid the update. Uninstalled the update via Control Panel. Rebooted. Applied the hotfix (which has a different version number, but is the same binary code) that I
downloaded. Rebooted.
Windows Update no longer shows KB2647753. It's a PITA solution, but works for those of us who are bothered by such things ;-)
