ATP safe links policies somehow applied to Hotmail now?

The only thing that support seems to know about this is:

1) That it's supposed to be a feature only for Premium users (it still says only "coming soon" on that page though).

2) And that Outlook Engineering will roll out a future release to improve the look of the safelinks. 

No word as to how they will be improved (no matter the improvement, it's not going to be the original URL, so it's still going to be a problem) or whether the feature will ever be optional.

No word on when, either. Sad.

Past years, Microsoft were taunting Google to read the mail of their users with the "Gmail Man".
But today, Microsoft modify my mail without asking. -_-

I don't want to be "protected" by they feature.
I regret to had paid for the Office 360. Now my received emails are spoiled.

The Outlook.com team has enabled premium features for Office 365 subscribers, including no ads and advanced email security. As part of these updates, you now receive a higher level of protection against malware and phishing threats. The Outlook.com service scans each link you click in your emails, and if the destination website contains suspicious content, you will be redirected to a warning page. We recommend that you do not proceed to any sites that trigger the warning page. 

As part of this change, the links in some emails you receive will look different. The links will contain additional information related to the security checks that were performed. Over the coming months, new Outlook.com updates will improve the appearance of these links while still keeping you protected.

At this time, Outlook.com doesn't provide an option to turn off advanced security on the links. If you're not able to use the links, I can refer this ticket to our escalation team to review.

Outlook.com itself doesn't, but they can do it, you just have to keep trying (all this stuff is new to them). There's a doc now which even says it, which was part of the announcement last week about changes coming to Premium:

Q: Can I deactivate these security features?

A: To provide the best protection for your account, these features are on by default and not designed to be turned off.  You can contact our customer service team via in-product support to have them deactivate the features on your behalf, but we do not recommend it.

I don't know why this rubbish safelink protection has been imposed on outlook users without their consent. This has made almost impossible to click a link coming in a mail.

Please spare us otherwise I have no option but to abandon hotmail and will be forced to opt some other mail account.

Such a great post, which really gets at the problems with this thing.

In Office 365 Enterprise (not consumer) plans which have ATP, MS actually gives admins the ability to control it though. What a concept!
