Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component__{89EDD3A9-944B-3257-8484-D6EB6A00DDF5}. HRESULT: 0x8007370A

I am trying to install Microsoft OFfice Professional Plus 2010 (x86) on Win7 64 bit; however, I always receive the following error:

Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component

{89EDD3A9-944B-3257-8484-D6EB6A00DDF5}. HRESULT: 0x8007370A

I have followed quite a few links online about how to solve this including uninstalling and reinstalling .NET installations. According tothis recent post (Oct 27), Microsoft is recommending that in order to solve this problem, Win7 must be reinstalled. I really hope this is not the case.

Other links that I have found describing this issue but have thus far proved unuseful:

And many more. This seems like a common problem unfortunately.

Did you try to install office from a new windows user account?

If not, use a new windows user account created as administrator to install office. Once office is successfully installed, you may delete the new windows user account created. Check the link below for information on creating user accounts:

Well Scott jr, what is the answer?  I have been trying to reinstall and or upgrade Office for months...  All to no avail.  This error 1935 is a conundrum without a solution.  In fact, I can hardly believe that Microsoft allows this installation to fester unresolved among their paying customers.  I am running a Windows 7 64-bit system.

Here is the error I continually receive:

Microsoft Office Professional 2010 encountered an error during setup.

Error 1935.  An error occured during the installation of assembly component {89EDD3A9-944B-3257-D6EB6A00DDF5}.  HRESULT: 0x80070005.

I suppose no one on Planet Earth has a workable solution to the dreaded "ERROR 1935" dilemma.  Not even Microsoft...  I have been attempting to repair a 2007 installation for over 9 months.  So far, everything is a Wild Goose Chase proposed by well-meaning people that have never actually had to perform this task.

I have the same problem.  Office 2010 will not install on my Windows 7 Home Premium system (HP dv6-2150us).  I also have followed all links and tried endless proposed solutions.  None of them work.  I will forthwith rely on Open Office, which at least can be installed.
