Convert a backup .ost file to .pst file WITHOUT using Outlook's "Import and Export" function.

I have an archived .ost file from 2007 Outlook from a previous computer that is dead.  I need to access the email from that file on a non-exchange computer with Outlook 2003 (though I'm soon updating to 2007) which keeps telling me that it needs a .pst file.  How can I convert the .ost file to a .pst file so that it can be read on my present computer?  Again, I can't use the Import and Export function in Outlook.

Thanks.

Answer

An ost only works with the account that created it. If the account is long gone, you will need to use a 3rd party utility to convert it. See http://www.slipstick.com/problems/ost2pst.asp for more information and links to utilities.
