How can I forward or alias mail without setting up a new user/mailbox?

Hello, we would like to setup a couple of email addresses solely as forwarding email addresses.  They wouldn't be tied to any existing users or mailboxes so we don't need to increase our license count.  An example would be emails coming in to *** Email address is removed for privacy *** would automatically forward to [removed by moderator to protect your privacy].

We have looked and looked and looked and haven't been able to find a way to do this.  Is there a way?  What are our options?

Thank you.

hi cindy,

i have reviewed the whole thread, and thought out another way to forward emails by creating “mail user” if you want to create a new email account (no license) in your organization. please follow the steps below:
1.    log into the office 365 portal.
2.    click on admin > exchange.
3.    under the recipients section, click on the contacts section and then press the + sign to create a new mail user.
4.    fill out the details for the new external user.

5.    press save.

in this scenario, you will create a new email account that regard as a forwarding email account in the organization. once somebody send emails to this account, it will forward those emails to the external email address automatically.

thanks,
gary
