error 2718 when installing windows office 2010

have a evga x58 board 975 cpu overclocked to 3.8 2 60g ssd raid 5 and 2 hard drives one 1.8 gig and other 1gig. Tried everything to get office 2010 to install but get error message 2718. my office 2007 installs with no problem so I have had to go backwards instead of forward. I see people have this error code and have tried all the different fixes with no luck

. last remaining is to wipe raid drive and start new. but I need you guys to help..

Did you install any other version of Office on this computer before?

If yes, uninstall the previous versions of Office before installing the Office 2010.

You may use the fixit tool in the link below to uninstall the office suite:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

Now try installing the Office 2010.
