  1. Are you trying to perform a clean install or an upgrade?

Method 1: Perform a clean boot:

Refer to the following Microsoft Help Article on how to perform a clean boot and check if it helps.

Method 2: Reset Windows Update Components Manually

Method 3: Check if the following services are set to automatic by typing Services.msc in the Run command.

  1. Cryptographic Service
  2. BITS(Background Intelligent Transfer Service)

setting the windows update service from manual to automatic fixed it for me.

Hi!

I have the exact same problem but this methods didn't fix. I Run a Windows 7 Laptop (preinstalled) and want to install the Windows 10 Tech Preview Build 10130 but it gives me that error after I try to install

No, It still didn't work ;-; ... even though I did all the steps suggested above

I Just gave up to be honest... I guess I'll have to wait until the official release of

Windows 10 on 29th of July (even though I want to test it out NOW) - Hopefully

that would work?
