New console?

Right, this is starting to annoy me..

I have recently bought some brand new games which I believe has some 'new disk format'. DiRT3, L.A. Noire & Brink.

I can play DiRT for ages until the sound goes off and I have to restart my Xbox console. L.A. Noire and Brink on the otherhand freezes, cancels out the sound and says disk unreadable. I've looked this up online and there are talks online about replacement consoles as the 'new disk format' doesn't work on Premium and Arcade Xbox's.

If anyone can post below this to inform me whether or not I'm entitled to a new Xbox or not as it peeves me off spending £40 on new games and then them not working properly. This is unfair if I have to buy a new Xbox just for the games to work as I've had no say in any 'disk formats' for new games.

From what I have seen that update affected a very small number of older consoles.
To be sure whether yours was one or not it might be an idea to phone support for your region, make sure you have the consoles id handy when you call them.

Game/console freezes.
