Xbox Slim Does not Come with HDMI Cables?

I don't think the HDMI cables have been included for a couple of years.  When I went to Amazon, "related items" included a set of HDMI cables.  That'd make me think they weren't included with the console.

so how is everyone playing in high definition? buying after market ones or just buying the ones MS sells? also, how would MS include high def cables in their old white elite consoles when they first were leased but not in the new slims?

I'd say they left them out, to cut costs.  I had them in my first 360 many years ago and have kept them, from console to console.  http://www.xbox.com/en-US/Xbox360/Accessories/CablesNetworking/Home  Shop around at your local Best Buy/Game Stop stores.  I don't know but check your box it came in and see if it says they're not included.

Any new console bundle doesn't come with High Def cables. My old 120 black elite came with HDMI and I've kept it through my consoles. I recently got the GoW 3 limited edition slim and it also doesn't come with high def cables.

Everyone is playing in High definition because we buy our own cables. I believe when Microsoft first introduced the Elite console it had an HDMI cable included (correct me if I'm wrong). They probably just did that to promote the fact that their console finally had HDMI.

All extra cabling (HDMI, HDMI AV adapter, Component) was dropped from all 360 bundles as of the Elite price drop September, 2009.

The only cable included since September, 2009, is the Composite AV cable.

HDMI cables are standardized (that was part of the point of the HDMI standard). They cost $5-$10 for one of a decent thickness/length.

Just get a cheap one for a few dollars. They work just as good as any of the expensive crap those idiots will try to sell you.

Exactly. HDMI is digital. As long as the signal gets from one end to the other, the result will be identical. You'll only have issues if the cable is damaged or defective... And don't ever buy Monster.

so know matter what brand HDMI cables you get as long as they are new they will look exactly the same? so a 10 dollar HDMI Cable will look exactly the same as the 50 dollar and 30 dollar ones they try to sell you? does anyone have a link that is a good cheap price i can buy them from? or should i go to best buy ect?

This whole scenario is gonna be heartbreaking for a lot of kids at christmas as many parents dont even know that this is a problem... Imagine opening up your xbox as a kid on christmas day, hooking it all up and...

... Yes Microsoft your gonna break a lot of hearts at christmas. Xbox's around the world will be sat there unabale to be played because all the damn shops are closed on christmas day.

Probably not the best way for kids to start their relationships with Microsoft and Xbox.
