Xbox One only device in house that has issues with network. Wireless adapter problem?

Suggestions I have :)

Firstly, give your console a hard boot, when any issue arises on the console. To do this, have the console on, then hold down the power button for 10seconds until the console turns off, wait a minute, then fire it up again and see how it goes.

Next, I would have a look at this link and follow the steps, as it has a number of helpful tips on how you might be able to fix it or figure out the issue: support.xbox.com/.../network-settings

Make sure to check out the troubleshooting steps at the bottom :)

Can you solve this? I think it's a problem with the DNS , because I change my DNS console, and the problem started

Thanks for the responses.  So far nothing has worked.  I followed virtually every step, and they often tell you to do the Bumper/Trigger buttons for advanced diagnostics, and the nat is always changing. One time it will be open, another time it will be strict, another time it will be moderate.  There is no consistency at all.

I did go ahead and plug it in with ethernet, and that seemed to fix most things, I was able to actually watch netflix.  Unfortunately keeping it plugged in isn't a viable option.

It just makes no sense that every other device in the house is ok.  It's so disheartening that I can't have a stable connection, and that I would have to go through so much trouble to fix just this one device (which I haven't found a solution yet.)

Using a gateway only : tg862g from xfinity.

There is a 360 and the Xbox one, however the 360 is never on. (Note: the one and 360 used to sit 1 foot from each other, the 360 would work fine, the one would fail. This tells me it isn't a bad distance or interference.)

Everything is wireless. Nothing plugged in.

I have tried opening ports for just the Xbox one. After that failed, I disabled port forwarding, and enabled DMZ for the Xbox one only. After that failed, I turned off UPnP, which failed after, and then turned it back on, still failing.

I honestly haven't used the Xbox one a lot lately, but the most recent example I have is Netflix. It just simply doesn't work, it buffers every other minute, buffering longer then it actually plays the video.  So I'm not sure if that's because of the NAT issues I'm seeing.

Having said that, here are some of the NAT issues I've seen. I constantly check my network settings in the Xbox, and it seems to be a roulette of Open, moderate, and strict. After doing test multiplayer, I'll press all trigger and bumper buttons. My NAT has then said, behind a cone NAT, and something about behind a port symmetric NAT. Did a lot testing earlier today, forgot all the errors.

As stated earlier, it is xfinity Internet. When I plugged in the Xbox with Ethernet, the download was 87.6 Mbps, and upload was 11.9 mbps. Pretty nice speeds. Download drops to between 10-20mbps down and 1-3 mbps up. There are also wifi strength issues, between 60-80%, and I've seen latency from 70-600. Somethings up with wireless.

Any more thoughts?

Sorry I forgot to mention, I'm in Illinois, about an hour west of Chicago.

in my experience , its almost always the "gateway" that causes these problems... the only way to verify would be to take your xbox to a friends house to test it or get your own modem and own router and ditch the gateway...

I actually did connect a separate router to the gateway, (I believe a cisco e2500) but I was under a strict NAT, even after setting DMZ for the xbox. I decided to not even further test this one, since a strict nat wasn't going to solve too much. (maybe it make netflix better, but I didn't want two routers sitting next to each other, wasn't sure if that was bad.)

I might bring it another house with a modem and a router to see if that works.  I don't think I'll be switching to a modem router at my house, as it makes no sense to switch everything for just one device.

Is there any way to test just the wireless adapter in the xbox to make sure it isn't bad hardware? I bought this a few months ago, the 500gb Master Chief Collection bundle.

If you plug a router into your gateway you get double nat , which is bad....you could try to put you gateway into "bridge mode" which will turn it into just a modem , then plug in the other router ...best test of the xbox one would be to take it somewhere else , if it works there , you know its your setup...did you say it works fine wired?

Ya I unplugged the additional router pretty much right away.

I might end up taking the xbox somewhere else this weekend, we will see how that works.  Assuming it works ok at another house...That pretty much means I'm *** at my house. Unless I get a new router setup or plug in with ethernet...

Ya when I plugged the ethernet cable in, it worked fine.  I had something like 90 down 12 up, and Netflix seemed to run ok. Only tested it for about 30 minutes or so.
