I looked a little bit to see if this has already been addressed, but when I bought my new 360-S last October, I brought it home, transferred the data from my 120gb hard drive to the new hard drive. Everything transferred fine, but then my new hard drive started having some issues. It would take 2-10 minutes just for the dashboard to pop up when I booted up the console. It would lock up brand new games in the middle of loading (i.e Black Ops, at the time). Eventually, I purchased a 16gb flash drive. I booted up the console, waited 10 minutes for it to show dashboard, then I copied my gamertag and what little data I needed to play from the hard drive to the flash drive. I have been playing off of the flash drive ever since. If I insert my hard drive now, it will take the 2-10 minutes to load, then it takes another 10 minutes for it to show up after I select "Memory."
I was just curious if there was any way to salvage the data on the drive. Is there anything I can do? Am I out of my 6+ years of game saves? The Xbox plays perfectly without the drive in there, but I would like to be able to install games again and I'd like to have all of my game saves available to me when I need them.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
