update question

ok i hear there is a new update today messing with peoples systems, my question is what xbox hardware is effected by this? I have the call of duty modern warfare 2 system and i dont want it to screw up because its my pride and joy and hate to send it in because i cant get a new one anywhere without spending a boatload of money on it. Anybody know which systems are effected before i update? thanks

No need to be scared! If you have not modified your console or had an unlicensed repair, you have nothing to worry about.

False. Many people who have never modified their xBox 360's are having trouble. The only known and possible fix is paying $100 to renew a warranty and send it in to get a repair, because of a patch???

The last update (The one before this one) broke my xbox 360 that I'd had from 2006 or so.... I got lucky and was given a new one as a Christmas gift (Ack, around 2 months without being able to play games). I'm hoping it'll last as long as my old one....Or even longer.

I'm getting tired of everyone thinking I should be made of money to buy new game consoles and HD TV's and everything. I'm not, I can't, and I'll be very broke if I did....

If you're experiencing an issue that began when the new update was dowloaded, and if you have never modified or had an unauthorized repair on your console, you should call phone support about the issue at 800-4MY-XBOX.

Actually it is false

i called today and i told them about this and i still have to pay $100 to get it fixed and i never modified or had an unauthorized repair.

Same for me. Never had any changes made to my system. Never had any type of repair. After the update it is a brick and I am supposed to pay to fix it. Nothing to worry about.
