MTU Settings are at 1500, Xbox still complains about MTU

Hi,

I'm on a college network. My Xbox is connected to the internet via ethernet cable. It keeps saying I don't have sufficient MTU settings, but I checked, and our settings are currently at 1500. I've connected to LIVE before on this network, last time I had to give my MAC address to the ISP so he could let it go through. I've already done that, and the Xbox is still saying there's not enough MTU.

Any suggestions or any other problems there might be? Thanks.

So being on a college network, you don't have any way to reset the modem/router or access the security settings, correct?

They reset it every night. I called them, they said they raised the MTU and everything and that  Xbox LIVE should be functioning, but still I get the same MTU message. My guess is that somewhere along the connection line my Xbox is still being denied access to the internet. I even bought a wireless adapter and that still didn't help. Could something be wrong with the Xbox?

Tried it....nothing worked. I've tried connecting through my laptop too, and that still didn't help. I still get the same MTU message.

Sounds like they are blocking the Xbox live ports then, you should contact whoever administrates the network

I am having the same exact issue except I am not at a college, I'm at my private home. I have been using xbox live with no problems for a while now. Yesterday I had to reset my router because it got jammed up and none of our computers could connect to the internet (I have 3 computers that were running at the time; the xbox was not on or connected; i can have up to 6 connections running on my router). I did shut downs on all 3 computers, then turned off the router and unplugged the power supply as well, waited about 2 minutes, plugged in the power supply, turned on the router, waited about 2 minutes, then brought each computer back up. All 3 computers rebooted and connected with no problems. Later on in the afternoon I turned the xbox on and went to play a game and it said the internet connection failed. I tested the connection and it connects to the network, but fails at the internet connection and says that my MTUs are not sufficient. I went in to my router settings and the MTUs are 1400 something, so they are sufficient. I have reset to factory default on my xbox network config and I have also manually entered my DNS settings. I do not have a modem to connect directly through (my router is a gateway so it's all one piece) and xbox live support says it is at the end of its support steps. PLEASE HELP! While I cannot connect my Gold Membership is being wasted.

I am also having problems with my connection due to the MTU settings. I have checked my settings for the mtu and so far nothing has change. I had reset my router and still the same thing. I have this problem for 3 days, that includes today. Will a solution be fpund as my Gold Membership is being wasted in the meantime?
