The first thing I would try is powering off your console and router for about 30 seconds, power the router up first and once you have an internet connection power up the Xbox. Test your network connection again.

If you still have the issue then I would try resetting the network settings on your Xbox. Note that when you do this you will probably need the password/security key  to connect to your router.

Hi

PPPoE isn't your wireless security, it will be WEP WPA or WPA2 which are you using?

I have to assume it is because you would have noticed when you reset the settings. Does your router/modem sign you into your ISP automatically?

I noticed you're using PPPoE encryption. Have you always used this encyption method to connect your Xbox to your network?

ShadOwmanUK is the guru on networking I believe.

I was wondering about the PPPoE thing myself.

Sorry I think its: wpa-psk/wpa2-psk?

Does that sound right? PPPoE is my connection type or something...

And yes, my modem connects me to the internet automatically. My girlfriends laptop is connected to the network right now via wireless, my computer is connected via wired but my xbox just doesn't seem to want to connect.

Oh and while we are talking about PPPoE, if you have anything in those entries in the Xbox dash for PPPoE remove them they will cause it to fail if you don't need it (99.9% of people don't)
