Computer thinks that headphones are plugged in when they are not, won't play sound through speakers.
I don't know what happened. One day I could use my headphones, or unplug them and use my laptop's speakers instead. The next day I open up my laptop and the speakers don't work. The strange thing is, my computer plays its turn-on sound (ASUS gaming series,
the logo kind of explodes into existance) when the computer starts up through the speakers, so I know the speakers worked. I scoured around my settings and discovered that for some reason my computer thinks that there is something plugged into my headphone
jack, even though there is not. When I plug headphones in they play fine. I haven't dropped it and I think I treat it pretty well. Searched through settings, couldn't figure out how to disable the headphone jack without disabling the speakers. Any suggestions?
It's really annoying to not have speakers.
