Data loss after installation of Windows updates automatically

Original title : Automatic updates

 

My PC was updating automatically  last night.  This a.m. all my documents had been deleted as well as my bookmarks.   I would be very upset if I did not have Carbonite.  Why would this happen?

·         Which are the Windows updates installed on your computer?

·         Have you done any other installations or changes on the computer in between?

I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

Method 1:

You may perform system restore to undo the changes on system, when everything was working fine. Follow pthe steps in the link:

Method 2:

After above step install Windows update one by one to check, which Windows update is causing the issue:

You may also download and run a virus scan using Microsoft Safety Scanner from the link to make sure that the computer is free from any virus infection:
