Windows 7, Adobe Flash Player, 32 bit browser

I recently got a new laptop with Windows 7, 64 bit system, and i love it, except for the fact that it can't run Flash Player yet.
I didn't have a problem with this, because the 32 bit internet explorer, or any other 32 bit browser should have worked with flash player. However, when i get to a site where i would use flash player, even including the page on the adobe website where you test your flash player, the browser freezes up (i've tried IE, firefox, opera, safari, and google chrome), and it says that the browser needs to shut down.

I'm using an Inspiron 1545, from dell
7600 windows 7 build
Pentium dual core T4300 @ 2.1Ghz
4 GB ram

It would be great if someone could help me figure out why flash player won't work with these 32 bit web browsers, and if there is anything i can do to change this.

Answer
Here is what I did.

You will notice that a bar appears at the top of the window to download an activex control. DO NOT click here. You don't need the Adobe Download Manager on your computer.

Instead, go to the bottom of the page where it says: Your download will start automatically.
If it does not start, click here to download

Download the file and save it to your hard drive. Then close Internet Explorer. Now go to the file and run it. Then, go to: http://www.adobe.com/ software/flash/about/ to see that it has been successfully installed. It should show you that version 10,0,42,34 installed.
