Computer keeps on bsoding / gpu failing.

Alright this might be a long post, because I have tried many things and had this problem for a long time now. And I'm posting this in the windows 7 section since this problem has occured longer on 7. (upgraded to 8 a few days ago)

Since I got the computer, this has kept on reoccurring  About a year ago, it wouldn't bsod, but the screen would turn into a plain color and then lines going vertical on it, but then when windows would restart it would say it was a bluescreen (even though i never saw it).

So I switched from windows 7 to windows 8, 100% clean format and this error still occurs. When it bsods, it looks like this.


And I can still hear music playing in the background, ect. Restarting the computer brings it back to normal, but it still occurs once or twice a day. I removed my crossfire cables and my second gpu to see if it was the problem but I still get the colored screen.

I have a WhoCrashed log from the 4th to the 7th.

To sum it up i suppose, sometimes it turns a plain / striped color and restarts and gives me a WhoCrashed log, and other times it does the same and the computer is still working in the background so I have to manually restart and there is no WhoCrashed Log.

This seems to happen whenever flash player / java is up in the background ( I think, I'm not positive since they are always open) I've tried turning off hardware accel, which fixed it for many people, but not for me. I have the latest CCC 13.4.

 Here's what I've done to try to fix this

1.Put both the cpu and gpu through a stress test where the cpu went to 65 and gpu went to 80 degrees, and it was all fine.

2. Flashed my bios to the newest version and downloaded my updated chipset drivers.

3. Updated my drivers

I don't think its a temp problem because these were my temps right before the crash


If you could help me out with this ongoing problem, I'd be really grateful.

DCACHEL1_DRD_ERR = L1 Cache Data Read Error.

All of the dumps are consistent with the same processor and bank (0). Likely a faulty CPU.

Normally I would also assume possible motherboard software conflicts (motherboard utilities that communicate directly between the OS and the BIOS are known to cause issues 0x124 bugchecks at times).

HOWEVER -

Due to the module / image name being 'hardware', this implies it is not driver or software related, but the processor itself.

As your temperatures appear to be within standard via the Speccy screenshot, your CPU itself is faulty and needs to be replaced.
