Runtime error! dllhost.exe "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way"

At seemingly random times, I receive an error window that contains the following information.  I am not sure what application it is refering to as it happens when I don't have any applications open.  The window title is Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library.

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Windows\system32\DllHost.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way.
Please contact this application's support team for more information.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi StuartPosin,

Use the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) to replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

1.       Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.

2.       Type the following command, and then press ENTER:

sfc /scannow

3.       The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.

You may also try creating a new user account and check. To create a user account

  1. To open User Accounts, click the Start button, click Control Panel, click User Accounts and Family Safety, and then click User Accounts.
  2. Click Manage another account. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
  3. Click Create a new account.
  4. Type the name you want to give the user account, click an account type, and then click Create Account.

If the new user account works fine then the previous account was corrupt, you may follow the link given below to fix the corrupt user profile.
