Today was literally **** for me! I updated to the latest Cumulative Update for Windows 10 version 1607 (KB3194496) and after installing/reboot I got faced with a login screen!
This was of course very strange as I had a local account with NO password, nor pin, nor any other kind of security measure, but the login screen appears requesting a password before I could login and access my computer.
Of course I tried to insert nothing which resulted in it just stating that I had to enter a password, then I tried my hotmail password which should NOT be linked to the account at all, but that also didn't work. I tried various other things until I noticed a pattern that even if I entered anything random it just stated Welcome but kept loading without saying that the password was incorrect or actually signing in.
So I was completely locked out of my computer, I couldn't even access any command prompt or password recovery as NOTHING was set after all.
In the end I had to recover my whole system which wasn't a fun experience and I pretty much lost a whole day because of it. I've got not idea to why this update is forcing users to have a password, but I do not want to update again but Windows is pretty much forcing the updates to install. So my question is how do I prevent this from happening again?
Thanks in advance for further information.
