Windows 10 won't allow me to set 4k resolution

Hello

Having a problem & could not find the answer already posted

Just bought a new LG 55UH661V 4k TV. I'm trying to set it up to show 4k from my PC through HDMI port, but display settings advanced options offers no option above  1920x1080 (recommended).
I'm on windows 10 64 bit
Sapphire R9 270x 4gb
2.1 HDMI Cable
Crimson 16.6 (latest)

all elements should be  capable of 3840x2160, but I have no option above 1920x1080.

I've also got a BenQ GW2760 connected through DVI, working fine at 1920x1080.

Radeon setting say VSR is not supported for the TV.

UPDATE 29/1/17

I've stumbled across the solution :

I had to roll back a GFX driver update, so did a manual update & chose a clean install, after this the problem was fixed.

so clean install GFX driver is the sollution

Hi,

The Display Settings can go above the 1920x1080 option depending on the video card on your computer and if its driver supports it. Also, you may use the Display port if you have it on your computer instead of the HDMI port.

We suggest downloading the latest driver from the manufacturer website and see how it goes. Make sure also that you have installed all the latest Windows update on your computer.

We're here for your feedback.

Regards.

As I mentioned in the original post, I'm using latest display driver for my AMD card, Crimson 16.6.

I have automatic windows update turned on, I've checked & it is up-to-date.

I've not used DisplayPort  as the TV does not have a DisplayPort input.

Thanks for the try, but my problem is not fixed.

Do HDMI monitors show up in Device Manager ? Because it sounds like a generic (low res) monitor driver is installed, instead of one specific to the device.

this is helpful, but not solved

the tv is using 'generic PnP monitor' driver.

I've used automatic update, no change

I've been to LG's site & googled the LG 55UH661V drivers, but can find no specific drivers

could you assist me in getting the 4k drivers please?

update 29/1/17

this turned out not to be the solution, a clean install of the GFX driver was the solution.
