"This device cannot start. (Code 10) {Operation Failed} The requested operation was unsuccessful." while trying to start up a usb mass storage device

I am having trouble trying to start up my USB mass storage device because of the error shown above. I am running on a windows 10 OS but, when I plug the USB into my computer there isn't a problem with connecting the USB the manufacturer is Compatible USB storage device (I don't know if that helps or not but might as well). I tried updating the driver but it was already up to date. can someone please help?

Hi, thank you for the help so far, but I've gotten to the part all the way down near where you say to delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters registry strings, but this is only for a keyboard that had the problem I'm looking for the GUID that corresponds to the USB mass storage device that I'm talking about, do you know where I might be able to go from here? Another thing that I tried was looking for the same registry strings as above in other possible GUIDs but there wasn't any that I could find (and I didn't feel like trying to do something that I didn't what the result will be so I just stopped trying and decided to ask you). thank you for the help here, I feel like I am on the right track I just don't know what train to get on if you know what I mean.

Please use USB based GUID i.e. 36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000 mentioned there and proceed accordingly.

Regards.
