14901 build error internal hard disk drive not found dell venue 8 tablet

Good morning:

When I update my tablet to the new build 14901 I had an error when the tablet restart to finish the process.

Internal hard disk not found. Now I am unable to use the tablet only have three options retry boot (it does not work) change the setup option (I do not know how to proceed) and run onboard diagnostics ( i did it en everything is OK).

Need some help to have the tablet back to normal.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Adrain,

Firstly, I suggest you to run the Hardware Troubleshooter. It is an automated tool which checks the hardware connected to the computer for any known issues and provides the details on how to fix them. Follow these steps to run the troubleshooter.

  • Type Troubleshooting in the search bar and press “Enter”.
  • In the “Troubleshooting” window, click on “View All” on the left pane.
  • Click on “Hardware and Devices”.
  • Click on “Advanced” and then click on “Run as Administrator”.
  • Click “Next” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

Let us know how it goes.

Thank & Regards,

SuJata Moktan.

You may need to contact the maker of the tablet to see how to reset, as the option to use the troubleshoot won't work if the system doesn't boot. as you posted no info on what your tablet is such as make/model, most times it's a combination of buttons such as hold power and volume down to start reset.

Good afternoon I'm going to bring the tablet to Dell shop next month and as soon as they let me know what happened I will let you know I hope that this issue won't be so hard to my tablet.
