Desktop coordinate system is broken

I'm a developer.

When I change my window position to coordinate {0,0} I suppose it must goes to upper-left desktop corner (TaskBar is located at the bottom).

But that does not happen anymore (Win10 build 9xxx and 10041).

In other words, calling SetWindowPos(hWnd, NULL, 0,0,0,0, SWP_NOSIZE) leaves a gap at the left.

And more, if I get the dimension of desktop work area and set appropriate window height - gap at the bottom appears too.

That is a breaking change of coordinate system. It has worked properly before, up to Windows 8.1.

Does this explain why the right hand side and the bottom of every window is hidden off the edge of my screen?  Even out of full screen mode, the app resizes, with scroll bars, but still cuts off the same amount of bottom and right edges.

May be, without screenshot I can't be sure. Windows10 has forced cut of window region. Left, right and bottom edges of every window are truncated. Usually that is obscured because it leaves thin border, but in some cases that leads to glitches.

There is a scaling problem that I complained about in 10041 and it continues.

Have you tried Tablet Mode?

Hi,

Thank you for the reply.

If you are comfortable, you may check if you face the same issue on latest Build 10049. If not, you may leave a Feedback in Feedback App. You may simply search for “Windows Feedback” from the search box.

Hope this information helps.

Upgrade to 10049 has been working all night long. But seems like it has completely stuck at "30%" (black screen with circle gauge).

Strange enough, but leds (on VirtualBox) of Lan and HDD were blinking.

Has to power off (reset) the box because I was not able to wait longer.

After reset, the upgrade has been unfortunately cancelled, and Windows shows now "Restoring previous version".

New 10049 ISO is not available yet as I can see.

Build 10049 has exactly the same problem. I've posted an issue with Feedback app. But I'm not sure if it was successful.
