Is it no longer needed to use the XBox 360 controller on Windows?

To my knowledge it is not discontinued - you can still find it in stick on the web. also you can still use your Xbox controller with Windows 8

Maybe MS can lauche a new one for the next xbox (rumor says that will use a completly new wi-fi protocol).

And at this moment the receiver is much more easy to found in markets (online market is the preference target to found) than de hard drive fo "fat" model...

Again maybe MS discontinue because they have the suposition of they lauched in the market the number exactly to suport to the date of december fo this year.
