Start a petition to be able play old games on xbox one

Hi all I don't know if anyone else is frustrated at the fact xbox one is not back word compatible with any of the games from 360.  I think was a cheap move by xbox and would like to see it changed.  I am new to the forums and don't know how to start petition if some one could direct or help me into the right direction to start petition to change so we all can play older xbox games on the new xbox one

Thanks Middie

Why didn't you just keep your Xbox 360 in the first place?

Lol thanks for the support.  When the 360 came out you were able To Play Old Xbox Games On it.  Besides when I think of the next generation gaming console I think it able to handle anything you throw at it even old out dated games. It mind blowing to me that they wouldn't make back word compatible.  And I had plans to put the 360 in the exercise room and now I cant.

They won't be doing this because they'll want everyone to be on the X1 in a couple years. If the One had 360 compatibility people could just buy cheaper 360 games as opposed to new expensive(crap) games. They want your money, brah.

You'll get no ground here. Gamers care about all the wrong things it seems. Besides it against the forum rules and its too late.

While I would love for these systems to be backwards compatible, I understand why it's difficult and we don't need another PS3 launch like that. The Xbox 360 had atrocious compatibility and the PS3 had to drop the ps2 compatibility to lower the price.

Emulating old games like PS1/N64 would be easy enough but after that it's taxing on the hardware and difficult to pull off.

In my mind, making new consoles too advanced to play the games used by old consoles is a sign of better things to come, so I don't dislike it on principle.  Our TV has multiple HDMI ports, so we have the XBox 360 hooked up to one port, and the XBox One hooked up to another.  Not a big deal, really.  You only use one console at a time, so your XBox live account works with whichever one you are signed into.   (You could make rude comments about how awesome my TV is, but I'll I have you know it's approximately 4 years old so this is nothing new)

The Xbox 360 only ran a couple dozen Xbox Originals and they all had to be emulated--most of the time poorly.  The same thing would have to happen with the Xbox One.  In technical terms the 360 ran a Jaguar PowerPC chipset and a custom video card and all the games were designed to work with those specific technologies.  The Xbox One and PS4 both run on the standard X64 PC architecture which is completely different from the PPC architecture.  In lay terms it can't effectively be done with one broad stroke.  What is more likely to occur--though still unlikely to be frank--is the re-release of major titles (especially ones that saw a PC release) from last gen on the new consoles.

The good news is that X64 bit architecture is still relatively new and will be around for quite some time.  What this means is that from this point forward if the console manufacturers stick with standard PC architecture new consoles should be natively backwards compatible or can get away with a back-end emulator akin to Dosbox.

I could careless about being able to play OLD 360 games on my Xbox1, what I wish they would do is let you have your arcade games ported over to the Xbox1.
When the 360 came out you were able To Play Old Xbox Games On it.
You were able to play very few Original Xbox games and that list hadn't grown very large when Microsoft stopped work on the program. It's charitable to call some of the game playable even.
