Setting to enable xbox on boot directly to live TV?

It will always boot up that way because that is the main home screen. If you don't like it like that then I recomment you plug both the Xbox One and cable box directly into the tv.

At the moment there is not to my knowledge a way to default into a particular window (like playing a game upon startup or jumping straight into TV). I guess my question would be: is saying the command "Xbox Watch TV" difficult in some way? I am not trying to be rude in any way here. It could be, that I have spent so much time working with/on the console that I may be jaded to new users at this point (not intentional).

For the Harmony remote configuration, it is not officially supported. If you are willing to test a few configurations with me, send me a private message. If we are able to get this thing working I can post the info publically.

MCE (Media Center Extender) is a complex issue, I won't go into that here. It has been something has had a little bit of noise on the forums. Our currently supported DLNA function is through Media Player's PlayTo, and SkyDrive (and SmartGlass in a way).

Would Like This Too, Its Not Hard To Say Watch TV, But Who Wants To Explain How To Turn Your TV On To Every Guest You Have, Especially Less Tech Savvy People.

For me, no. For people who are not tech savvy, or for visitors to my home such as my parents etc. YES!

And if I said to them "is saying the command "Xbox Watch TV" difficult in some way?", I would be seen as an A-hole, especially if English is not their first language!

I completely understand, that is why I pre-faced it. I did not want to offend anyone but I wanted to attempt to expound upon the reason of why saying "Xbox Watch TV" is hard for anyone to understand or explain, no matter the tech level. Also, how that command would be less difficult then using a Harmony remote. I swear I'm not trying to mess with you here, I just want to understand so I can make a case for something more simple, especially if you are having this issue someone else will as well. Just to clarify a bit: you would like some method, when turning on the Xbox for it to boot straight to the TV portion with no additional inputs necessary. Correct?

Correct, I see that as a must have feature.

I love what I have seen with the xbox one so far. The integration with TV has been above my expectations (besides not supporting media extender).

But, I'm not the only person to use the living room TV. And therefore I'm forced to give up all these nice features, and not take advantage of the HDMI pass-through, because other people either don't understand how to turn the thing on, and / or don't want to use the voice commands.

By adding this one simple option, problem solved. By default it is just a TV to those who don't care otherwise, but for me it is an experience.

I totally agree with Holtzcore. It would be great to just turn on your Xbox one and it goes straight to live TV or whatever you choose. I love the voice commands but my wife doesn’t want to use voice commands or another remote just to watch live TV. She was annoyed the first day with having to do two steps in order to watch TV. The Xbox is in the living room so I had to plug the cable HDMI back into the TV which takes away from the great features that lead me to buy the Xbox one. It would be a great feature to have the option to choose what comes on your screen when the Xbox is turn on.

Very easy way for MS to do this.  They just need to add a remote command for  "Watch TV".   Commands already exist for  "OneGuide" and "XboxHome".   Then most universal remotes can give this as part of their startup sequences for that activity.
