it depends some games will stay at 100% if they dont buy the DLC however most of the time it will update the total gamerscore even if you dont buy it which is dumb tbh.

If you want to keep your 100%, then don't update the game when the DLC comes out. But that also means you can't play the game online.

jesus, just because someone has a silver account doesnt mean they dont know what they are talking about. people with a  silver account can be just as helpful and knowledgeable with stuff like this as someone who has a gold.

The reason why playing online is an issue is because if you connect to LIVE with the game in question playing, LIVE will detect that there is additional content. It may prompt you to accept or decline an update, when it does this, LIVE updates the game with new info (including that there are more achievements).

So, in turn, it now shows up as 1000/1250 instead of the 1000/1000 that it may show if you just leave the game idle on your gamercard.

it kicks you offline and gives you the prompt to update, so if you dont update the game, you dont play online with it anymore. mind you if its a SP game like dead space, Dead rising etc, you can easily just take out your ethernet cord if you have use one so you dont risk losing the completion%.

Yeah, he could have been on gold since live was invented, just because he's on sliver now doesn't mean he has had no experience.
