Can't play some BLACK OPS maps, help!

i have that exact same xbox, the 4 gig and everything, im having the same problems as you, the only difference is i cant play any zombie maps

Either of you bought either of the map packs by any chance?

Can you both give these steps a try?

Delete the content
System Settings > Memory > [select storage device] > Games > [select game] > [select content] > Delete

If the content is not in the above location, try looking in the Games folder for “Unknown Game”. Delete this and continue with the steps.

Clear system cache
System Settings > Memory > Highlight HDD, Press (Y) > Clear System Cache > Yes

Restart the system

Redownload from purchase history
Account Management > Download History > [select content] > Download Again

Can you both try accessing memory in System Settings, then select Games, and then Call of Duty: Black Ops. There should be a title update listed. Please try deleting that, then playing the game (you'll be prompted to redownload the update).

I have a 120gb Elite and a 512mb Arcade i believe.  I get the error on both, no map packs downloaded.

yes sir!  I've been following/testing solutions since the beginning of this whole thing.  I think i've tried just about everything thus far.  Ive even tried wiping the entire hard drive with saved games and everything. haha  

Okay, and are you only experiencing this issue with Black Ops? If so, could you possibly try a different copy of the game, like a friend's, perhaps?

i got the same problem but its with other online games as well, ill play than i keep getting kicked off, and a message appears saying the server is down or something like that. i was thinking it my internet because i use the wifi but a few days before hand it was working fine. i think ill try your guises ideas

ok, i had a friend come over and we played his disk on my system and we never got the error once.  Is it possible that there were different versions of the game sold at different times?   I put my disk back in after a few games and got the error on our second game.
