When you run "Test Xbox LIVE connection" what is the exact message shown on screen? are as follows
your console can connect to xbox live but your router or gate way isnt properley responding to icmp responses connect your router directly to the router to determine if thats the problem..........Tried that and my xbox works ok
your console is connected to the internet but cant connect to xbox live turn off your router or modem then turn it back on and wait 30 seconds-----tried that and makes no difference error codes are

Your network doesnt have a sufficient mtu setting xbox lie requires a minimum setting of 1364-----------checked that and mine is set at 1500 error codes are

your console is connected to the internet but cant connect to xbox live.your router or isp is blocking access to xbox live.on your pc go to your router confiuration and make sure port 3074 is open on your fire wall if it is open it may be blocked outside your home network contact your isp.....ive conntacted them and they have told me thay dont block ports so its not them......error codes

so thats my problems if anyone can help.the funny thing is my xbox 360s 250gb only started playing up when i installed the last update.....we run 2 xboxs in the flat one is the new xbox the other is and old black elite model with the wireless adapter and that one never ever has any problems connecting to live....my 360s is about 10-15 feet from my router but running a cable to it would be very hard because i have no where to hide the wire and it would be in the way....ive tried unplugging all my wireless things at home aswell which is only the other xbox laptop and land line but it makes no difference....even tried using a wireless adapter on the back of the 360s and that doesnt work.....sometimes it just connects to live and works for about 5 mins then disconnects so i have to reconnect then its ok again for 5 mins and disconnects again....ive sent the console away to have it checked and there is nothing wrong with it...it is compatable with my netgear router because i have checked with netgear...port 3074 is opening when it should because when you play on the elite and go to router settings its open....so once again if any one can help please do....cheers
