Same as others here, my Xbox Live works fine for about 30 mins and then disconnects me. It occurs most often when playing Black Ops. This is simply unacceptable behavior from a PAY service (Xbox Gold account). Microsoft, please fix the issue or provide real support instead of forcing users to dig into help articles that won't help them. All of my other internet-facing devices are working just fine. Xbox is the only device that is constantly failing. And no, my modem doesn't need to be recycled or ports opened.

Many peoples in finland with this same problem. My Xbox disconnects every 5minutes. Computers work fine, xbox doesnt work.
I agree with Vilifier, we pay that we can play online. but it doesnt work. I think its microsofts business to make it work, not our.

Things you have tried: Router has been bypassed and xbox connected directly to modem. All settings restored to factory defaults. These make no difference

After you run "Test Xbox LIVE connection" and click on "More info", what is the exact message shown on screen?
There is no option for "more info" test goes fine. The probem is random and appears after 1-30 minutes. Usually the connection works longer just after I start the xbox. The longer I play the shorter are connection times. The xbox is more or less in open air so if it is cooling problem its internal to xbox not because of the ambient temperature.
As stated above our two computers are connected to the same router and network connection losses are very rare.
Network speed is about 14 Mbit/s (dowload) and <1 Mbit/s (upload).

Squire: What are you doing when it disconnects? Does this only happen when playing online, or will it happen when just sitting on the dashboard? Does this happen to any account logged into LIVE on this console and/or does your account have issues staying connected to LIVE on other consoles?

It disconnects when im playing games or checking facebook with xbox, it doesnt happen if im checking news or new games on dashboard. Never tested my account on other consoles... but if i log in to my account on computer while playing games for windows live, (GTA 4 example) it disconnects. So something is wrong with my account?

Or i dont know does it disconnect when im on dashboard, cuz i just check the news it takes like 1-4 minutes so i dont know does it disconnect.

Before I point to an account issue, I'd like you to try logging in on a console on a completely different network. It is highly unlikely your account is to blame here, but I like to be thorough.
