Gears of War 3 Beta: Keep your "Player Data" for retail unlocks

After four weeks of executions performed, medals awarded, skins unlocked, and enemies decimated, our time together in the Gears 3 Beta is coming to an end. The servers go dark at 2:00 AM PDT on Monday, May 16, after which you will be unable to connect to multiplayer matches. If you want to hang on to any of your retail unlocks earned during the Beta, please do not delete your Gears 3 Beta saved games — you can delete the Beta executable itself, but hang on to those saves! (Step-by-step details below.) Thanks again for playing, and we’ll see you again on September 20! To delete the Gears 3 Beta but leave your saves intact:

 

Go to the System Settings menu on your Xbox 360

 

1) Select “Memory”

 

2) Select “Games”

 

3) Select the Gears of War 3 Beta (507MB) and delete it.

Seems to me Epic will have some angry people who played the Beta, but deleted their data come launch day!!

Yup cheers. I would of wrongly assumed it was all kept server side.

The game save is less than 1MB.

OH MY GOD!!  What have I done?!  All my Flame weapons GONE!!

 

 

 

 

 

Gotcha.  I'm just kidding.  Wasn't planning on deleting it any way.  Had a feeling they were linked to a save file rather than a server/PC on Epic's side.

You can delete the actual beta if you need memory, just don't delete the game save..... I'm guessing i don't lose my flame weapons and that if i trade in bulletstorm!

Trade away mate. Like its been said already, the Gears 3 save is seperate from everything else.

Hey I have a big problem. I got a new Xbox 360 and I didnt transfer my content, I just recovered my account and downloaded the Gears 3 Beta, But Before i done this, i already had ALL of the Gears 3 Beta unlocks. By just playing the beta with the unlocks already unlocked, do i still get the Flaming weapons+Cole train+Gold retro?

As it stands currently, you won't.

If you want to get it you will have to transfer everything (or the game save for the beta) to a USB flash drive or use a transfer cable to transfer everything to the new Xbox. That way you will unlock it when you play the retail game and you will also have your game saves for the other games that you've played.
