Can't remove credit card from my account.

A credit card on my account has expired. This interferes with me purchasing other things on xbox with another card because I get an error code becasue of the billing violation. I can't remove the credit card and it is stopping me from buying other things. When I try to remove it it tells me it can't be removed at this time. Any help?

yep update your creditcard info then you can remove the old card

a creditcard cannot be removed while on an active membership

if you are suspended for payment option you must update the payment method

To add - You can update your payment option information through www.billing.microsoft.com, simply add a new card and select to transfer the payment over.

You will need to phone XBox Support in order to pay off the pending payment. Then you will be able to go back on Xbox LIVE.

This is happening to me but it seems to be a site bug or something. When I go to remove one of my payment options (one which is NOT set as the renewal card) I get the floating window that asks if you are sure that you want to remove it, but clicking on "Yes" does absolutely nothing. The "No" button and the "X" to close the floating window work, but not the affirmative choice.

Updating your payment information will get billing suspentions taken cared of, but it won't make it able to remove any credit cards, you're going to have a gold subscription on the account and you won't be able to remove the ccard.

For that you need to contact Xbox support and have autorenew turned off on the account. Then when its silver you can remove the card. Unless you put a prepaid on the account before the subscription runs out.

It is not a bug.  As long as you have a Gold sub, you are required to keep one card at all times if you originally started the account with a debit card.    You can only remove it if:

(1) The sub expires and reverts to Silver
(2) Call and cancel the sub and then it will revert to Silver
(3) Put another card on and then you can remove the first one.

Once it expires (however it is done) you can get a prepaid card to renew it...without putting a card on the account.  I did this a few months ago myself.
