Hi,

Desktop Window Manager is the window manager in Windows Vista and Windows 7 that enables the Windows Aero graphical user interface and visual theme.

I'm sorry that I mentioned only Windows 7. You can try the above mentioned steps in Windows Vista also.

You can check in safe mode if the error occurs. If not, disable the Display drivers from Device manger and try to login normal mode and check.

If the error doesn’t occur, you can uninstall and reinstall the Display drivers and check.

Step 1: Uninstall drivers from Device manager.

a. Click Start and type devmgmt.msc, and then Enter. The Device Manager window opens.

b. Expand Display adapter and c. Right click on the device and select Uninstall.

After uninstalling drivers from device manager you have to also uninstall the device drivers from programs and features so that it uninstalls the software completely from the computer.

Step 2: Uninstall drivers form Programs and features.

a. Click start

b. Type appwiz.cpl in Start Search

c. Search for the Display driver and uninstall the package.

d. Restart the computer and check and check if it loads the default generic drivers and see if it works fine or not.
